The Sloss Center facilitates consistent, low-barrier opportunities for students to connect, build community, and engage in creative and supportive spaces.

Our events are often informal drop-in gatherings that bring students together around shared interests and experiences and promote access to campus resources. Examples include:

  • Sloss Paper Scissors (SPS) – a casual, come-and-go crafting and creative expression space, held most Fridays from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. during the academic year
  • Community-building events such as open houses and welcome-back gatherings
  • Creative workshops (art, crafting, hands-on projects)
  • Resource-focused events and information sessions
  • Family-friendly programming and opportunities for parenting students
  • Seasonal and themed engagement opportunities

All events are open to students.
